Absence and Presence
This series of work responds to an exploration of the ordinary, the commonplace, the mundane. The images focus on an object that may ordinarily go unnoticed in its found environment. In displacing the ordinary, the object's presence is elevated to a qualitatively different perception and stature.
With focus now suspended in time, the realtionship between absence and presence comes into sight. The works intend to explore as much the ordinary as the relationship between absence and presence; that which comes in and out of focus; both light and its absence in the shadows left behind. The unspoken being of much significance as the spoken.
